What to Send Us

  • The original birth, marriage, or death certificate issued by a ZAGS office in Krasnodar region, or tell us if it is lost and we will help you order a duplicate
  • The name of the city or district ZAGS office that issued the certificate, if you know it
  • The country where you plan to use the apostilled certificate, so we can flag any extra steps that country expects
  • A copy of your passport or ID, so the name on our request matches your identity documents
  • A mailing address abroad for courier delivery of the apostilled original, plus a phone number, email, or Telegram handle for updates

Why the Apostille Has to Come From Krasnodar

An apostille is a certificate under the 1961 Hague Convention that lets a foreign country trust a Russian document without further checks. In Russia, the power to apostille a civil registry document is regional, not national. Your birth, marriage, or death certificate can only be apostilled by the regional ZAGS department or the regional Ministry of Justice for the Krasnodar region, and that office only apostilles documents that a ZAGS office inside Krasnodar region actually issued. If your certificate was issued by a ZAGS office in a different Russian region, such as Moscow or Rostov, the Krasnodar office has no legal authority to apostille it. In that case, we can prepare a notarized copy and translation instead, apostilled through our apostille-translation service, or put you in touch with a trusted partner near the office that issued your document.

If you no longer have the original certificate, that does not stop the process. Your Krasnodar ZAGS office keeps its own civil registry records and can issue a duplicate of a birth, marriage, or death certificate it originally recorded. We can request that duplicate for you, using a power of attorney if you cannot visit the office yourself, and then take the duplicate through the same apostille process as an original. Once apostilled, a duplicate carries the same legal weight as the original certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Russian birth certificate apostille and translation together?

The apostille itself is placed on the certificate as issued, in Russian. If you also need a translation, we can arrange a notarized copy with a certified translation through our apostille-translation service, or translate your apostilled original once it reaches you. Tell us your destination country and we will tell you which combination that country usually expects.

Can you put the apostille on my original ZAGS document, or only on a copy?

We apostille the original document, as long as a ZAGS office inside Krasnodar region issued it. That is different from our apostille-translation service, which apostilles a notarized copy for documents issued anywhere in Russia, not just Krasnodar region.

My birth certificate was issued in another Russian region. Can you still help?

The Krasnodar regional apostille authority can only apostille documents that its own ZAGS offices issued, so we cannot apostille your original in that case. Instead, we can prepare a notarized copy, and a translation if you need one, and apostille that copy through our apostille-translation service. We can also refer you to a trusted partner near the office that issued your certificate.

I lost my original birth certificate. Can I still get an apostille?

Yes. We can request a duplicate from the Krasnodar ZAGS office that originally issued the certificate, using a power of attorney if you cannot request it yourself, and then take that duplicate through the same apostille process as an original.

Does this service also cover marriage and death certificates?

Yes. The same regional apostille authority in Krasnodar handles birth, marriage, and death certificates issued by ZAGS offices in Krasnodar region, and duplicates of any of these if the original was lost.

How long does the whole process take, from order to delivery?

Processing and the apostille itself usually take 7 to 14 business days. If you also need a duplicate ordered first, add 10 to 20 business days before that clock starts. Once the apostille is attached, we email you a scan the same day, and the original travels by international courier, which typically adds 2 to 5 weeks to the EU or US.

You May Also Need

  • Document Issued Outside Krasnodar region?

If your birth, marriage, or death certificate came from a ZAGS office in another Russian region, we apostille a notarized copy and translation instead.

  • Need It Translated Too?

If you also have foreign documents that need a notarized Russian translation for use inside Russia, this is the service for that.

We are not a Russian government agency. We apostille original birth, marriage, and death certificates only when a ZAGS office in Krasnodar region issued them; documents from other Russian regions need a notarized copy and apostille instead, which we offer as a separate service, or we can refer you to a trusted partner. If your original is lost, we can help you request a duplicate from the Krasnodar ZAGS office that issued it before starting the apostille process. Typical door-to-door delivery to the EU or US is 2-5 weeks on top of processing time, depending on courier routing.
